Rocci Luppicini is an associate professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Ottawa (Canada) and acts as the editor-in-chief for the International Journal of Technoethics. Amazing Thought-Provoking Story for All Ages

Flynn’s Log 4 continues this incredible series of books by adding increased depth to the characters who are dealing with a world digital crisis and exploring ideas about the virtual world and the physical world. I was amazed at the way this book challenges the reader to question what is real, and it’s done in a way to intrigue both young and mature readers. The characters that we’ve grown to know are now faced with more issues that affect the real 21st-century world.

While the book is written for younger readers, there is amazing thought, intensity, and sensitivity that the author brings to the written page. The new images that accompany this book are outstanding artwork and help give visualization to the ideas, concepts, and characters.

This is an excellent book, in my opinion. It is well-written, tells a good story, has memorable characters, and provides thoughts and ideas that stimulate the reader’s mind.

Ok,so yes,I am a kid. But that doesnt mean i cant rate this book 5 stars and say it is $W@99�. This book tells the tale of a great friend and minecrafter, and how his friends helped him defeat a powerful foe. Although Elle had to do the choice that she had to make, (#badgrammar #antispoiler,) she did it because of her friendship with her friends. This is a thought provoking book and I highly reccommend it for 11,12,and 13 year olders like me. Peace, and BUY THIS BOOK!!!

Capturing the true essence of what it means to turn “lemons into lemonade”, she has taken the harsh lessons of life and developed a plan for successfully living. The Unspoken Walk has afforded Marita the opportunity to travel all over the country spreading the wonderful joys of her faith with anyone willing to hear it. Marita proved to be destined to preach like her father, the late Bishop Westley C Robinson. Marita is also wife of Comedian, Saxophonist, and Motivational Speaker Demoine Kinney. She is a successful business woman and has established herself as a source of inspiration, influence, and encouragement to many women (young and old) in her community through an organization called Joy Falls Ministries. She is also a Advocate for The National Bone Marrow Donor Program, helping to educate minorities on the lack of minority donors and how it affects the community. Marita has been selected by the National Association Of Professional Women as the 2010/2011 "Woman of the Year". In December 2009, Marita launched the first of many Unspoken Walk retreats. There young women were able to connect, form strong relational bonds, and develop a support system helping them reach their full potentials. Strength and provision from the grace of God

I will admit that I have read numerous books on trials and triumphs but this one had me glued to my seat from start to finish. Too I admit that the trials, one after another that author Marita Kinney had to endure unsettled me somewhat. I looked for breakthrough after breakthrough and instead found her experiencing another setback. Looking back I see the hand of God in that, all along the way, with each successive trial emerged a stronger women that refused to quit and today embodies strength of both character and spirit that is hard to surpass.

Where the natural world would look at her being raised by a single parent, experiencing the murder of her brother, death of her father and divorce with 2 small children as a disaster, God saw it as a means by which he would take each incident and show Himself strong in provision. Having been raised in church did not aid her in right free will choosing. It was only following her father's death and murder of her brother that she faced a crossroad and made a decision for Christ in her early twenties.

Author Kinney shares the faithfulness of God and how He met her at every turn financially, emotionally, and spiritually. As her trials continued her indomitable will and then strong spirit would have her declare "I could have checked out and given up on life. No, but I was determined to live and not be bitter."

After you read this story from cover to cover you too will discover what she declares in that the Lord was preparing her to minister to hurting people. You will not be so lost in her story that you will fail to reflect on your own. Instead, as you see the hand of God move, it will encourage you to know that no trial is too difficult that God cannot see you through. My, my, my!!! How I enjoyed this book....this "testimony!!!" I never read a book more than once, but I'm sure I'll be reading this one again! I could totally relate to some of the situations the author went thru. Oh, but to be kept by JESUS!!! If you're looking for something encouraging to read....this is a great one!!!

Good intro to Advertising

Maybe I'm a little biased, because Mr. Arens was my professor while I attended San Diego State. I really never knew how good this book was until I started working in Advertising. I highly recomend it for anyone who is looking to have a better understanding of this field or for anyone who is considering it as a career. Good for any side of advertising (i.e. creative, account, traffic, etc...)

This is not only contemporary, but comprhensive. An excellent text that covers the range of history that leads to today's form of advertising, showing what has worked in the past, the present, and through the ages.

The text has excellent explanations of specific campaigns. Examples such as the rise of Mountain Dew, and how it became the strong brand today from the original drink mixer for moonshine is but one such example.

The text covers workflow and patterns that are unique to ad creation and leads the reader through the process through detailed copy, real world examples, and finished products.

Perhaps one of the suprising chapters is the production techniques. Too many come out of school with what they think are the goods on good advertising, but missing the boat on production and the inhereint limitations and production efforts involved. While not a how-to, the text certainly explains the processes.

The text goes into great length about how different forms of media use advertising. Radio is to Billboards as print is to televison, so the various sub types, buying patterns, influences and importance of each is well covered.

Overall a great resource for the classroom as well as some catch up reading for those confined to one form of media when branching out. This should be in every agency's library.

Great reference for marketing communications from advertising to sales promotion for new comers to the field. Good resource for small businesses as well. Outstanding examples throughout the text. Very readable, but could be more concise.

His other films include Modern Times (1936), a commentary on the Great Depression, and The Great Dictator (1940), a satirical attack on Hitler and the Nazis. Beautifully written! I enjoyed this book from start to finish. 5 stars!

After seeing the movie Chaplin (which was a superb movie), I decided to purchase this autobiography of Charlie Chaplin. Before I purchased this book, I had considered other books about Charlie Chaplin but they were not written by Charlie Chaplin. This book is warm and honest and I enjoyed it so much, it was hard to put it down.

This is a beautifully done autobiography of of a very special man Charlie Chaplin.

Read More Like A Society Page

I'm an enormous Chaplin fan, so I anticipated widening my perspective on the supremely-talented artist. My perspective was widened, but not appreciably, and for that reason, I cannot rate the book any higher. Chaplin gives great detail about his impoverished boyhood, but slides into a long litany of the world's greats with whom he palavered once he'd made his impact. Names, names, and more names, but no real depth about what any of them meant to him (except Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford). Even his half-brother Sid gets short shrift. Therefore, to that extent, the book is very disappointing. Chaplin must have had reasons to bypass so much of what we fans would like to have been told. I don't pretend to know, but I will not be using the book for any reference or bothering to pick it up again.

Wonderful read

Charlie Chaplin takes you back to another place in time. I felt like an observer, on a movie set. I give any woman kudo' s for being able to live with him. He comes across as very self absorbed. Kids, he had eleven kids! They were like a footnote.
The maid and the butler got more of mention. I don't believe he
wanted to respect their privacy. But I'm glad I read it. Would do so again. This is really about old Hollywood and changes in the industry. I felt sorry for the silent actor's and actresses, who blew their money. Very few made the jump into talking film's. Or they were sabotaged. Studio head's didn't care, as long as they were making money.

Brilliant comparative description of how people really make choices

How do people really make choices? In this brilliant book, Chibnik shows that there is more than one way to answer this question. He compares approaches from economics and anthropology, showing the strengths and limitations of each. We need more of these kinds of books that put aside disciplinary narcissism to show what different kinds of research contribute to knowledge production.
