Dual Interpretation of 7 Trumpets

This book seeks to help us understand the 7 Trumpets in Revelation 8:2-11:19 in a new way. Dr. Gane proposes a dual interpretation of the Trumpets, in the time leading up to “the time of the end” and in the Last Day. I believe this is breakthrough book for Adventist publishing, allowing for a Last Day interpretation of the 7 Trumpets and the Two Witnesses of Revelation 11. I will give you a few high points below.
“The final verses of Daniel 11 suggest that in the future there will be a massive clash between the professedly Christian west and the world of Islam… (p. 98)
“In league with the papacy, the Western powers, including the United States, will subjugate the Islamic powers and will then appropriate the wealth of the Islamic world (oil)… (p. 99)
“And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him. At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book (Dan. 11:45-12:1 NKJV).
“The glorious holy mountain is Jerusalem. The suggestion seems to be that the king of the north-the papacy, the United States, and other Western powers- will establish a center of papal rule in Palestine. At this crucial point, ‘Michael (Christ) shall stand up’ (Dan. 12:1) at the conclusion of the pre-Advent, investigative judgment (cf. Dan 7:9-14). This is the end-time close of probation (p. 100).”
Does this sound familiar? Many scholars, such as Dr Gane, are seeing that the Abomination of Desolation, as spoken by the prophet Daniel, will again return to the holy place in Jerusalem as a literal, earthly event. The book of Daniel is an unconditional prophecy, unlike the other Old Testament prophecies, which were conditional in nature. Jesus warned those in his generation about this event.
