World Literature Selections is a collection of works designed to introduce students to the literary work of people from a variety of times and places. These selections represent a sampling of various types of writing -- prose, poetry, drama, novels, short stories -- and highlight some of the most significant writers in the history of literature.
Each selection begins with a brief biography of the author, when applicable. After students have read each selection, several questions test their reading comprehension and challenge them to analyze and interpret what they have read.
Answers are provided at the back of the booklet.
